Story time is a 30 to 45 minute program filled with literacy enrichment activities for children. Each program includes stories, songs, fingerplays, and crafts centered around a weekly theme. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to stay with their children during each program, as interaction and assistance are key. Join Alma Mae Hoopes, a local artist and gallery owner, as she assists you in the creation of a beautiful paper mosaic (torn shreds of paper used to create an image) devoted to a cherished person or pet. Award-winning songwriter Cliff Cody will give you a crash course in the basics of writing a great song - regardless of your chosen musical genre. Cliff will use some of the same lessons that he employs during his regular songwriting workshops across the country to help you discover your voice and your musical potential. An accomplished songwriter and performer, more information and samples of Cliff's music can be found here. Participants should feel free to bring their musical instruments and song ideas to this "after-hours" program. Teens and adults with an interest in songwriting and performing are welcome to attend.
