Regional Spice Kits

Each week of Summer Reading, stop in at any PCDL branch and pick up a Spice & Recipe Grab & Go Kit! Kits will be made available for pickup starting each Monday.

Each week will feature a different recipe from one of the six main regions in the United States. The kit will include all necessary spices to complete the recipe, a list of further ingredients, directions, related cookbooks that can be checked out at the library, and educational information about the food and region.

Any remaining kits from previous weeks will be available until they’re gone.

Kits will be at all PCDL locations and will be made available on a first come, first served basis.

  • Week 1 (June 2): The Midwest - Appetizers: Barbecued Meatballs
  • Week 2 (June 9): The Northeast - Soups: Pepper Pot Soup
  • Week 3 (June 16): The Pacific Coast - Salads: Potato Mac Salad
  • Week 4 (June 23): The Southwest - Main Dishes: Tostadas
  • Week 5 (June 30): The West - Side Dishes: Ranch-Style Beans
  • Week 6 (July 7): The South - Desserts: Kentucky Jam Cake
